Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical issues, and ensure compliance with security policies while managing system performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-level operational support and maintenance for production systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
• Document issues and maintain system configurations, ensuring compliance with VA standards and security policies
• Collaborate with users and cross-functional teams to enhance system performance and implement continuous improvement methodologies

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
