Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

To support Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop technical solutions, and manage system outages while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, addressing technical issues and outages
• Document problems and communicate status updates to users and management while ensuring compliance with security policies
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and manage inventory of system assets

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
