Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
• Document and report problems, ensuring effective communication with users and senior management
• Maintain and install computing infrastructure while implementing continuous improvement methodologies

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
