Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

To support Veterans Affairs operations, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will manage day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop technical solutions, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high-level operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
• Document issues and communicate effectively with users and management regarding system statuses and resolutions
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets while ensuring compliance with security policies

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
• Strong experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, as well as system administration tasks
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and configuration management
