Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies while maintaining system performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
• Document problems and communicate status updates to users and senior management
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
