Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on high-level operational support, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will manage complex application cloud systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of production systems
• Detect, document, and resolve system outages and problems, ensuring rapid recovery
• Communicate with users and senior management regarding system status and issues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
• Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
