Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Experienced professionals will find a full-time remote opportunity as a Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support), responsible for providing operational support for complex application cloud systems, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with security policies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high-level operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, addressing outages and technical problems
• Document issues and communicate status updates to users and senior management while ensuring compliance with VA standards
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and manage system assets effectively

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
• Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible or Puppet and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
