Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems while managing system outages, developing solutions, and ensuring compliance with VA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance for large-scale production systems
• Detect, isolate, document, and resolve system outages while communicating status updates to users and management
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
• Proficiency with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
• Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
