Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the FAA Systems Engineering and Technical Support Services (SETSS) Program, the part-time Senior Systems Engineer will provide systems engineering and technical support for National Airspace System (NAS) and IT systems, focusing on facility maintenance, system modifications, and equipment repair in a fully remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering services for NAS systems and FAA business IT systems
• Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts, including Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Functional Requirements Documents (FRD)
• Collaborate with cross-functional FAA stakeholders and support R&D activities as required under the SETTS program

Required qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science
• Minimum of 12 - 15 years of relevant engineering experience
• Knowledge of or experience with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) and Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems
• Experience with Enterprise Architecture and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
• Advanced spreadsheet modeling skills in Microsoft Excel
