Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer will build and maintain a cloud-based Web Dashboard application, design RESTful APIs using Java and/or NodeJS, and integrate with internal platforms while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard application for healthcare EDI transactions
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs that retrieve and serve healthcare records, ensuring reliable data delivery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API contracts and support deployment and performance monitoring of back-end services

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on back-end technologies such as Java and/or NodeJS
• Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with Angular and integrating APIs into front-end components
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and tools such as Git/GitHub for version control
• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust security clearance are required
