Senior Systems Engineer

Job Summary

As a hands-on technical leader, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer will remotely manage the configuration, migration, and continuous improvement of Airbnb's Atlassian platforms, focusing on the transition from Jira Data Center to Jira Cloud while leveraging AI to enhance system productivity and quality.

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary SME and administrator for JiraCloud Software and JiraCloud Service Management, overseeing configuration standards and technical debt reduction
• Lead and execute Jira migrations, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions and implementing scalable Jira configurations aligned with best practices
• Act as a strategic partner to business stakeholders, translating requirements into technical designs and identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years of hands-on Atlassian administration experience, including Jira Software and Jira Service Management in enterprise environments
• Deep expertise in Jira workflow design and proven experience leading Jira migrations from Data Center to Cloud
• Proficiency with Jira REST API and experience integrating Atlassian tools with identity providers
• Strong background in Jira Service Management, including SLA configuration and custom workflows
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner for technical workstreams
