Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To support a growing technology services firm, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer will lead the engineering, administration, and optimization of enterprise systems and compute environments, ensuring infrastructure is secure, efficient, and aligned with business needs while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage core systems including compute, networks, storage, and cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Monitor and optimize system performance, providing expert-level escalation support for complex technical issues
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support
Required qualifications
- Minimum 10 years as a Systems Engineer with Microsoft server and Linux operating systems in enterprise environments
- Expertise in virtualization technologies using VMware and Hyperconverged Infrastructure
- Proficient in enterprise storage technologies and backup/recovery solutions
- Advanced skills in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred; advanced degrees a plus
