Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Supporting a large technology-driven rental services organization, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer will provide production support and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) expertise while evolving the organization toward an API-first architecture, working remotely within the continental U.S. during U.S. Central Time core business hours.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor mission-critical rental systems for application health, performance, and SLA compliance, responding to production issues and outages
- Support middleware and Java applications, including infrastructure maintenance and upgrades across hybrid cloud and legacy environments
- Develop operational standards and technical documentation while troubleshooting complex production issues and mentoring less experienced engineers
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a software development engineering environment with technologies such as Java and Web Services
- 2+ years of middleware configuration and support experience with WebLogic and Tomcat
- 2+ years of AIX/Linux systems administration experience
- 2+ years of scripting experience for automation and application support
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field preferred
