Senior Systems Engineer (AWS)

Job Summary

Leading the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (AWS Data Engineer) will implement a scalable, cloud-native AWS architecture, optimize data storage solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance reporting capabilities in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data to AWS, ensuring optimal query performance and data organization
• Evaluate and recommend AWS data services for reporting needs, while building and maintaining data catalogs and metadata management
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code practices to streamline data infrastructure development

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
• Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare environments
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and Redshift
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong SQL skills with experience in designing relational query layers over semi-structured data
