Senior Systems Engineer (AWS)

Job Summary

To lead the modernization of a healthcare data platform, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (AWS Data Engineer) will work remotely, implementing cloud-native AWS data architectures and optimizing data storage and query performance for business stakeholders and analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute the migration of XML object store data to AWS, defining optimal storage formats and query strategies
• Design and build a reporting layer that enables non-technical users to run SQL queries against healthcare data
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into effective data models and implement CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software or data engineering with a strong focus on AWS
• Proven experience in architecting cloud data platform migrations in enterprise or healthcare environments
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Athena, and DynamoDB
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with XML-heavy data stores
