Senior Systems Engineer (Public Trust)

Job Summary

To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Public Trust) will build, support, and migrate a cloud-based Web Dashboard application for healthcare EDI transactions, design and maintain RESTful APIs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable data delivery, all in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a cloud-based Web Dashboard application and RESTful APIs for healthcare data processing
• Integrate with internal APIs and data services to deliver EDI transaction data accurately and efficiently
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews while applying best software engineering practices within an Agile framework

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on back-end technologies such as Java and/or NodeJS
• Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs in healthcare or enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with Angular for front-end development and API integration
• Familiarity with AWS or Azure cloud services, including API Gateway and Lambda
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
