Senior Systems Safety Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on developing safe, AI-powered autonomous driving systems, the full-time Senior Systems Safety Engineer will apply V-Model methodologies, collaborate with diverse engineering teams, and guide system safety engineering practices in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Derive functional and safety requirements from use cases and driving modes while integrating and validating requirements
• Contribute to architecture decomposition and validation, mentoring teams in requirements processes and best practices
• Guide teams in system safety engineering methodologies, manage requirements traceability, and support V-Model process improvements

Required qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of proven industry experience in systems engineering
• Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art systems engineering methodologies
• Experience in applying the V-Model to complex engineering projects
• Familiarity with system safety methodologies and safety standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508
