Senior Technical Claims Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Technical Claims Specialist: Excess, Coverage and Specialized Claims.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a book of Commercial Casualty Excess/Umbrella and Specialized claims throughout the entire claims life cycle
• Conduct investigations, set and adjust reserves, negotiate settlements, and authorize payments or denials of claims
• Train and mentor staff while managing relationships with various business partners and keeping abreast of relevant legislation and trends

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of claims adjusting experience
• Advanced to expert knowledge of commercial casualty claims investigation, coverage, and resolution strategies
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and mentor others, typically acquired through 7 or more years of experience
• Experience with Commercial Excess and Umbrella claims averaging $1-3 million or more
• Preferred experience with various types of Commercial Casualty Claims including premises liability and environmental claims
