Job Summary

Overseeing the editorial process for high-stakes technical documentation, the hybrid remote Senior Technical Editor will ensure technical accuracy, stylistic consistency, and publication readiness while mentoring junior staff and transforming complex information into accessible documents.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the editorial lifecycle for technical documents, research reports, and related products
• Provide substantive editing, proofreading, and quality control support to ensure clarity and accuracy
• Coordinate with authors and technical reviewers, managing multiple edit cycles and version control

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related discipline
• 10+ years of senior-level technical editing or editorial management experience
• Supervisory or mentoring experience within an editorial environment
• Expert-level command of the GPO Style Manual and strong knowledge of federal publishing standards
• Experience editing complex technical documents and ensuring copyright compliance
