Senior Technical Writer

Job Summary

To support a federal Digital Services Platform Engineering contract, the full-time Senior Technical Writer will produce and maintain architecture documentation, engineering standards, and developer guidance while working remotely within the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain the Platform Engineering Architecture Blueprint and structured Engineering Standards Catalogs to provide clear guidance for engineering teams
• Collaborate with platform engineers and security teams to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with accessibility standards
• Utilize developer feedback and adoption metrics to iteratively refine documentation and enhance developer confidence in the platform

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, plus at least eight years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience in a software engineering or technical product environment with a strong focus on writing and documentation
• Familiarity with developer platform tools such as GitLab, Jira, and Confluence, and concepts like CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code
• Proven ability to create clear, action-oriented content for complex digital workflows involving sensitive data
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards and compliance-driven content constraints
