Senior Technical Writer with HAZMAT Certification

Job Summary

Supporting the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), the full-time remote Senior Technical Writer with HAZMAT Certification will produce and maintain accurate product purchase descriptions, validate cataloging data, and evaluate products for hazardous materials transport classification while coordinating with engineering stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update Item Purchase Descriptions (IPDs) through product and market research
• Validate cataloging data across multiple federal logistics systems for accuracy and consistency
• Evaluate products for hazardous materials transport classification and assign the appropriate Dangerous Article Code (DAC)

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related technical writing experience (or equivalent substitutions)
• Current HAZMAT certification, with supporting documentation and training records available, or ability to obtain prior to assignment start
• Ability to pass a background check required to obtain a federal government ID badge (PIV)
