Senior Tooling Design Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Reactor Internal Design Tooling Team, the full-time Senior Tooling Design Engineer will design remotely operated tooling for the installation and adjustment of Nuclear Reactor Modification Hardware, primarily working in a challenging underwater environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design Reactor Modification Tooling incorporating various actuation methods while adhering to schedule and cost limits
• Draft fabrication drawings and build/test the tooling to ensure performance requirements are met
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tooling designs that meet Nuclear Quality and Safety standards

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 10 years of mechanical design and testing experience, including 2D and 3D modeling
• At least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industry
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in the full design evolution process
• Knowledge of various fabrication techniques, including machining and welding
