Senior Transmission Planning Engineer

Job Summary

Focusing on Transmission System Planning & Analysis, the full-time Senior Transmission Planning Engineer will provide engineering services for assessing power system performance, conduct power system modeling and analysis, and mentor junior staff while working remotely with occasional travel required.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct power system modeling and analysis for dynamic stability, transient stability, and short circuit studies
• Develop and evaluate alternatives for interconnecting or modifying generating units and other resources
• Assess the reliability and efficiency of existing and planned power systems, ensuring compliance with standards

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in power systems engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in power system modeling, analysis, and planning
• Proficiency with power system modeling tools such as Siemens PTI PSS E and PowerGem TARA
• Experience with dynamic stability and transient stability studies
• Familiarity with the rules and processes of system operators (ISOs/RTOs)
