Senior Transmission Planning Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior or Principal Transmission Planning Engineer, this position offers the opportunity to lead a team in complex power system studies, engage with clients to enhance transmission reliability, and conduct technical modeling, with options for remote work or various office locations across the U.S.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team in preparing interconnection studies and project deliverables while ensuring compliance with quality standards
• Engage with clients to identify and implement solutions for improving the reliability and economics of their transmission systems
• Perform power system modeling and studies to comply with NERC Reliability Standards and client planning criteria

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 6+ years of experience in Transmission planning
• Proficiency in software such as GE PSLF, TARA, Gridview, PowerWorld, PSSE, or PROMOD, along with PSCAD experience
• Familiarity with ISO transmission systems and generator interconnection processes
• Strong client relationship skills and proven leadership experience
• EIT certification with the ability to obtain PE through examination
