Job Summary
Seeking a fully remote Senior Transmission Planning Engineer, the position will manage transmission planning projects, support utilities within the Western Electric Coordinating Council (WECC), and provide technical leadership while mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Establish technical direction and philosophy for transmission planning projects while ensuring compliance with NERC/FERC guidelines
- Simulate and analyze the performance of transmission and generation systems, conducting Steady State and Transient Stability studies
- Lead project assignments, review work of consultants, and mentor less experienced engineers
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, specifically in transmission planning for utilities in WECC
- Proficiency in running Steady State and Transient Stability studies and using PSLF software
- Strong knowledge of power system analysis and modeling techniques
- Demonstrated analytical and computer skills
