Senior Transport Planning Engineer

Job Summary

Managing transport network growth and capacity plans, the contract Senior Transport Planning Engineer will develop implementation-ready packages for engineering teams while providing technical leadership and mentoring in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop SONET network growth and capacity plans for core and metropolitan transport networks
• Build implementation-ready engineering and planning packages for design and field engineering teams
• Forecast capacity demand and manage capital and expense budgets for assigned planning projects

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of transport network planning or network engineering experience
• Hands-on SONET transport planning experience, including capacity management and consolidation or migration planning
• Working knowledge of optical transport networks and DWDM
• Proficiency in TIRKS and MetaSolv for transport inventory and planning
• Demonstrated ability to build implementation-ready planning packages for design or field engineering
