Senior Underground Transmission Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing engineering team, the full-time Senior Underground Transmission Engineer will design underground transmission lines up to 500kV, manage project costs and design criteria, and oversee a small team of engineers and designers.

Key responsibilities

• Design underground transmission lines, including duct bank layouts and cable selection studies
• Conduct cost analyses and develop specifications for installation and procurement of transmission line materials
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to specify components and ensure compliance with design codes and standards

Required qualifications

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
• Proficiency with CYMCAP modeling and cable tensioning calculations
• 5 or more years of experience in underground transmission projects
• Experience with XLPE cable design and preparation of specifications
• Familiarity with design codes and standards such as NESC, EPRI Green Book, and IEEE
