Senior Underwriter

Job Summary

Collaborating closely with business development representatives, the full-time Senior Underwriter will analyze commercial lines accounts, price business according to guidelines, and maintain strong agency relationships, with the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze commercial lines accounts to assess individual risk characteristics and make underwriting decisions
• Price business in accordance with company underwriting and pricing guidelines while ensuring profitable growth
• Communicate with agency personnel regarding underwriting issues and maintain positive relationships through regular meetings

Required qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in commercial insurance, particularly in underwriting Workers' Compensation, Property, and Casualty lines
• Advanced knowledge of commercial underwriting practices
• Strong sales and marketing skills with the ability to qualify opportunities and close deals
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
