Senior Underwriter
Job Summary
Evaluating and analyzing complex loan transactions, the full-time Senior Underwriter will make informed decisions on loan approvals while ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze complex loan applications and financial documents to determine borrower creditworthiness
- Partner with mortgage originators and processors to decision mortgage applications and resolve complex underwriting matters
- Produce detailed Credit Memorandums for the Loan Approval and Credit Committee, clearly communicating underwriting decisions
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience with a High School diploma/GED)
- 5+ years' experience in mortgage loan underwriting
- 5+ years' experience in customer service
- Experience underwriting complex mortgage or property financing loan transactions
- Extensive knowledge of generally acceptable underwriting and lending practices
