Senior Underwriter FHA/VA Certified

Job Summary

Evaluating mortgage loan applications, the full-time Senior Underwriter FHA/VA Certified will provide thorough assessments of credit and property documents, identify risks, and advise on loan decisions in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review loan submissions and generate initial credit decisions in accordance with various underwriting guidelines
• Evaluate applications for eligibility and compliance with state, federal, and investor guidelines
• Perform credit and property analysis, including complex tax return evaluations and timely reviews of loan conditions

Required qualifications

• Five or more years of mortgage underwriting experience, specifically with FHA, USDA, and VA loans
• Current experience underwriting VA mortgage loans
• Direct Endorsement (DE) and/or LAPP/SAR certifications
• Superior knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA underwriting requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent
