Senior Underwriter - Inland Marine

Job Summary

Experienced in underwriting large complex inland marine products, the full-time Senior Underwriter - Inland Marine will work remotely from North Carolina or South Carolina, managing accounts, negotiating terms, and developing strong relationships with brokers and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet business targets, negotiating pricing and terms with brokers
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and maintain accurate policy documentation
• Support the development of regional underwriting strategies and mentor less experienced staff

Required qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in underwriting inland marine business with established broker relationships
• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics, along with a professional insurance qualification
• Strong understanding of inland marine products and the ability to assess risk exposures
• Proficient in analyzing complex data and developing portfolio strategies
• Familiarity with general office applications and willingness to utilize AI tools for efficiency
