Senior Underwriter - Mortgages

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Underwriter - Mortgages will review and re-underwrite pre-funded and post-closing files for credit quality, provide feedback on loans, and assess risks associated with transactions while ensuring compliance with underwriting policies.

Key responsibilities

• Reviews and re-underwrites loan files for credit quality and adherence to policies
• Provides management summaries and recommendations based on loan reviews
• Identifies training needs and documents policy variations for operational improvement

Required qualifications

• 5-8 years of related experience in underwriting
• Conventional underwriting experience; FHA/VA designation preferred
• Thorough knowledge of underwriting policies and document requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills
