Senior Underwriter - Stop Loss

Job Summary

Serving as the primary contact for stop loss vendors, the full-time remote Senior Underwriter - Stop Loss will rate and design benefits for the largest and most complex groups while determining the acceptability of new group risk and generating proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Determines the acceptability of new group risk and generates proposals
• Completes pre-reviews on new groups and rate reviews on renewals, including processing ERISA reporting
• Trains and advises less experienced underwriters while serving as a liaison to other departments on underwriting issues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years related work experience or Associate's degree with 2 years related work experience)
• 5 years of underwriting experience
• Extensive knowledge of underwriting and risk principles and their application
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
