Senior Underwriting Consultant

Job Summary

Analyzing Financial Protection Products, the remote Senior Underwriting Consultant will assess risk, utilize underwriting criteria for rating methodologies, and provide recommendations for pricing and plan design options while balancing profit protection and sales growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial modeling for reserve and budget calculations aligned with client strategies
• Evaluate risk for Life, LTD, STD, and supplemental health products, ensuring accuracy in renewals and proposals
• Deliver competitive proposals and conduct analysis to support business retention and growth

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in group insurance underwriting for various products including Group Life and Disability
• Large case underwriting experience with a focus on pricing development
• Experience in training and mentoring others within the industry
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly Word and Excel
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with internal and external partners on case strategies
