Job Summary

Leading the New Business Underwriting team, the full-time Senior Underwriting Manager will manage daily operations, ensure team performance and service delivery, and develop underwriting talent while working remotely.

Key responsibilities
  • Own team adherence to underwriting guidelines and quality standards, proactively resolving operational bottlenecks
  • Coach and develop underwriters, focusing on independent decision-making and technical proficiency
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and underwriting quality
Required qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of commercial insurance experience required, with strong preference for workers' compensation underwriting experience
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial insurance underwriting
  • Strong technical underwriting judgment with the ability to handle complex risks independently
  • Proficiency in G-Suite tools and collaboration platforms (Slack preferred)
