Senior Veterinary Consultant
Job Summary
To support pandemic preparedness initiatives, the part-time Senior Veterinary Consultant will provide strategic expertise in planning, implementing, and monitoring the Animal Health Technician component of a project aimed at strengthening health systems in South Africa, while working remotely for an 11-month duration.
Key responsibilities
- Provide expert technical input on project design, implementation, and reporting, focusing on compliance and infrastructure needs
- Lead engagement with stakeholders to sustain funding and collaborative arrangements for establishing primary animal healthcare clinics
- Develop and deliver targeted coaching and training programs for Animal Health Technicians, monitoring their progress and business development
Required qualifications
- Advanced university degree in veterinary studies from a recognized institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the animal health discipline
- Proficiency in English at a working knowledge level (level C)
- Strong project management skills and experience with financial and administrative procedures
- Knowledge of key stakeholders in the animal health field
