Senior VMware Migration Engineer

Job Summary

To execute enterprise-scale VMware to AWS migration projects, the full-time Senior VMware Migration Engineer will partner with Cloud Architects and Engagement Managers, leveraging deep VMware infrastructure expertise and AWS migration tooling to ensure seamless transitions from on-premises environments to AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end VMware datacenter migrations using AWS Migration Services, performing comprehensive workload assessments and implementing migration strategies
• Build AWS landing zones and migration target environments while configuring AWS migration tools and automating workflows using Infrastructure-as-Code
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to client teams, leading migration workshops and troubleshooting complex migration challenges

Required qualifications

• 8-10+ years of IT implementation or cloud engineering experience
• 5+ years of VMware infrastructure experience with vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and NSX
• 3+ years of hands-on VMware to AWS migration experience using MGN, CloudEndure, or HCX
• 2+ years of Infrastructure-as-Code experience, preferably with Terraform
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional certification
