Service Mesh Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Service Mesh Engineer specializing in Istio and Linkerd, who will design, deploy, and manage service mesh platforms in a remote environment, ensuring secure and efficient service-to-service communication across Kubernetes clusters.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and operate service mesh platforms primarily using Istio and Linkerd across multi-cluster Kubernetes environments
• Implement mTLS, certificate rotation, and traffic management policies including routing and fault injection
• Build observability for mesh traffic and optimize performance while developing onboarding guides for application teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Five or more years of experience in platform engineering, SRE, or networking roles
• Hands-on experience operating Istio or Linkerd in production environments
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking, CNI, and ingress
• Proficiency in Go or Python for tooling and automation
