Job Summary

A company is looking for a part-time Appeals Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle short-term disability first level appeals and conduct quality reviews of claims
  • Document all activities related to investigating appeals and provide feedback for training purposes
  • Monitor appeal inventory and ensure timely communication of decisions to claimants
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3 years of experience in a short-term disability appeals environment
  • Minimum of 5 years in disability claims management, preferably short-term disability
  • Experience with compliance issues related to disability management laws such as ERISA, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
