Short Term Disability Claims Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing claims organization, the full-time Short Term Disability Claims Specialist will conduct interviews with claimants, review medical records, and make ethical claim determinations while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather information regarding Short Term Disability claims
• Collaborate with case managers and consulting physicians to ensure timely and appropriate claim determinations
• Review complex medical records and perform accurate financial calculations in accordance with company and state guidelines

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience in claims, leaves, or customer service
• Experience with disability and/or absence management is a plus
• Strong mathematical skills for payment calculations
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
