Short Term Disability Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Short Term Disability Claims Specialist will conduct interviews with claimants, review medical records, and make timely claim determinations while providing exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals to gather information regarding claims
• Collaborate with case managers and consulting physicians to make appropriate claim determinations
• Review complex medical records and perform accurate financial calculations in line with guidelines

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience in claims, leaves, or customer service
• Experience with disability and/or absence management is a plus
• Strong mathematical skills for payment calculations
