Short Term Disability Claims Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Short Term Disability Claims Specialist will manage insurance claims from initial adjudication to ongoing management, making informed decisions based on thorough evaluations and collaboration with management.

Key responsibilities

• Make decisions in partnership with management based on comprehensive claim evaluations and documented procedures
• Develop case files and maintain effective communication with claimants, brokers, and internal departments throughout the claims lifecycle
• Review ongoing claim liability and accurately determine financial liability by analyzing various documentation and contract language

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of current Short Term Disability Claims Processing experience
• Ability to analyze and apply insurance provisions and contracts to disability claims
• Proficient in calculating disability benefits and managing offsets for accurate financial payments
• Experience navigating multiple systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to provide empathetic customer service while promoting a collaborative culture
