Job Summary
Seeking a remote contract Simulation Engineer - OpenFOAM / OpenSees, the role involves developing and executing CFD and structural analysis simulations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering projects.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and run CFD simulations using OpenFOAM for fluid flow and multiphysics problems
- Build and execute nonlinear structural and seismic analysis models using OpenSees
- Validate simulation results against experimental data and document methodologies for stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural/Civil Engineering, or a closely related field; advanced degrees preferred
- Proficiency in OpenFOAM and/or OpenSees for simulation applications
- Strong understanding of continuum mechanics and finite element methods
- Experience working in Linux environments and using scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Ability to interpret simulation results and produce clear technical documentation
