Simulation Engineer - OpenFOAM

Job Summary

Seeking a remote contract Simulation Engineer - OpenFOAM / OpenSees, the role involves developing and executing CFD and structural analysis simulations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and run CFD simulations using OpenFOAM for fluid flow and multiphysics problems
• Build and execute nonlinear structural and seismic analysis models using OpenSees
• Validate simulation results against experimental data and document methodologies for stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural/Civil Engineering, or a closely related field; advanced degrees preferred
• Proficiency in OpenFOAM and/or OpenSees for simulation applications
• Strong understanding of continuum mechanics and finite element methods
• Experience working in Linux environments and using scripting languages such as Python or Bash
• Ability to interpret simulation results and produce clear technical documentation
