Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Site Reliability Engineer will apply a software engineering mindset to enhance platform reliability and performance, manage production services on Heroku and AWS, and build automated solutions to support software engineers in delivering high-quality products.
Key responsibilities
- Share responsibility for the health and performance of production services, using monitoring tools to proactively resolve issues
- Define and track Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and optimize application performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks
- Collaborate with the backend team to refactor code and improve overall system performance while championing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices
Required qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in Site Reliability, DevOps, or related roles managing infrastructure
- Deep experience with applications on Heroku and AWS
- Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitHub Actions
- Strong understanding of web application performance, particularly in a Ruby on Rails environment
