Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Site Reliability Engineer will manage the health and performance of production services on Heroku and AWS, optimize application performance, and build automated solutions to enhance system reliability for millions of readers.
Key responsibilities
- Share responsibility for monitoring and resolving production service issues using various tools
- Define and track Service Level Objectives (SLOs) while driving decisions on reliability work through data analysis
- Collaborate with the engineering team to improve CI/CD pipelines and overall developer experience
Required qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related fields
- Deep experience managing applications on Heroku and AWS
- Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically Terraform
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions
- Strong understanding of web application performance, particularly in a Ruby on Rails environment
