Site Reliability Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Site Reliability Engineer, the successful candidate will manage the health and performance of production services on Heroku and AWS, optimize application performance, and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance system reliability for millions of readers.

Key responsibilities

• Share responsibility for monitoring and resolving issues in production services on Heroku and AWS
• Define and track Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets to drive reliability improvements
• Collaborate with teams to optimize application performance and enhance CI/CD pipelines

Required qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in Site Reliability, DevOps, or related roles managing infrastructure
• Deep experience with Heroku and AWS applications
• Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions
• Strong coding skills, particularly in diagnosing and optimizing Ruby on Rails applications
