Site Reliability Engineer

Job Summary

As part of a collaborative product team, the full-time remote Site Reliability Engineer will enhance platform reliability and performance by managing production services, optimizing application performance, and improving CI/CD pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Share responsibility for the health and performance of production services on Heroku and AWS, proactively identifying and resolving issues
• Define and track Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets, using data to inform reliability decisions
• Collaborate with the backend team to optimize application performance and refactor inefficient code

Required qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related roles managing infrastructure
• Deep experience with Heroku and AWS applications
• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly with Terraform
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions
• Strong coding skills with experience in Ruby on Rails, focusing on performance optimization
