Site Reliability Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing product team, the full-time remote Site Reliability Engineer will apply software engineering principles to enhance platform reliability and performance, collaborating closely with engineers to build automated solutions and optimize system efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Share responsibility for the health and performance of production services on Heroku and AWS, proactively identifying and resolving issues
• Define and track Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets, using data to inform reliability decisions
• Collaborate with the backend team to refactor code and enhance application performance, while improving CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure management

Required qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related roles managing infrastructure
• Deep experience with Heroku and AWS applications
• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Strong coding skills with experience in Ruby on Rails environments
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like New Relic or Sentry
