Job Summary

Supporting Commercial Lines Small Business Underwriters, the full-time remote Small Business Underwriting Assistant will manage new and renewal quoting, process endorsements, and review loss control inspections to ensure profitability and growth objectives are met.

Key responsibilities
  • Select, price, and develop coverage terms for small commercial lines accounts
  • Review new business applications to evaluate risk and accept or decline risks based on underwriting policies
  • Maintain relationships with agents and communicate underwriting decisions effectively
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, with a background in insurance or equivalent experience
  • One to three years of commercial experience at a company or agency level preferred
  • Commercial Technical Assistant with a minimum of two years' experience will also be considered
  • Demonstration of self-development through attainment of professional insurance designations (e.g., CLCS, AU, CPCU, ARM)
