Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Social Media Editor, this role will create engaging content for Yahoo Finance across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn, following a Wednesday-Sunday schedule and requiring independent motivation to produce impactful social media posts during weekends.

Key responsibilities:

• Pitch, produce, and post social media content, including short-form vertical videos and graphics related to news and personal finance
• Edit and adapt existing Yahoo Finance videos and articles into social-friendly formats
• Create timely reactionary content for breaking news and live events, connecting Yahoo Finance to trending social conversations

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience creating social content for a journalism or media outlet
• Deep understanding of social media platforms and experience producing engaging content across major platforms
• Proficiency in video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut, as well as graphic design tools like Adobe Photoshop or Canva
• Strong news judgment and ability to write clear, concise social copy
• Familiarity with business, markets, and personal finance
